Privacy Policy for senders

This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use the service and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you. We use your personal data to provide and improve the service. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this privacy policy.
What is personal data?

Personal data is any information referring to an identified or Identifiable Natural Person.

What is the processing of personal data?

Processing of personal data is basically anything that is done with personal data - for example, collecting, storing, analysing or erasing personal data.

What does it mean to be a data controller?

A controller is the actor, such as a company or a public authority, that determines the purpose(s) for which personal data is processed and how the processing is carried out. The controller is responsible for ensuring that the processing of your personal data is carried out in accordance with data protection legislation.

What does it mean to be a data processor?

In certain situations, the controller may use a so-called processor, who is entrusted with the processing of personal data on behalf of the controller. A processor may only process personal data in accordance with the instructions of the controller, and may not use the data for its own purposes.

What personal data does Barid process, why and on what legal basis?
When Barid processes personal data about you, the processing is always for the purpose of establishing or maintaining a business relationship between the company you represent and Barid.
For how long do we process your personal data?
Barid has clear internal retention policies that ensure that personal data is not retained longer than is necessary to fulfil the purposes of the processing of personal data, as described in the table above.
  • Agreement

Personal data processed on the legal basis of an agreement will be processed by Barid for as long as such an agreement is in force and thereafter for a maximum of one (1) year after the contractual relationship has ended (or earlier if you have been replaced by another contact person/representative or have otherwise notified us that you no longer wish us to process your personal data).

When the agreement ends, or when we otherwise decide that your personal data will no longer be stored for the purposes above, it will be erased.

  • Legitimate interest

With respect to personal data that is retained on a balancing of interests as the legal basis, Barid has determined that a maximum retention period of one (1) year is reasonable for the purposes based on a legitimate interest as described in the table above. However, we will erase your personal data at an earlier stage if you inform us that you have been replaced by another contact person/representative for the organization you represent or otherwise notify us that you no longer want us to process your personal data.

Where is your personal data processed?

In all cases where we have not been able to rule out a risk that personal data may be disclosed to countries outside Sweden and the United Arab Emirates, we have ensured that the relevant country outside the UAE has what is known as an adequate level of protection. We have also analyzed which technical and organizational safeguards are appropriate to implement to protect the personal data in the event of disclosure. Exactly which protective measures have been implemented depends on what has been technically possible and considered sufficiently effective for the respective service.
Who has access to your personal data?
Our service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
  • Barid’s suppliers and subcontractors

We share information about you with our suppliers who provide services and functionality to Barid, such as software, data storage and business consultants. The suppliers may in their turn disclose such information to their subcontractors. The suppliers and their subcontractors are Barid’s processors.

We share your data with Barid’s suppliers because we need to access services and functionality from other companies that we are not able to provide ourselves. We share your data with our suppliers when we consider that we have a legitimate interest in accessing a supplier's service. We ensure that the processing it involves is necessary to pursue that interest, and that our interest outweighs your right not to have your data processed for this purpose.

  • Authorities

If a public or law enforcement authority for the purpose of the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences or the execution of criminal penalties, including safeguarding against and preventing threats to public security requests information about you, Barid is required by law to provide the information.

What rights do you have?
You can read more about your rights under Part 6 of the Data Protection Law DIFC Law No.5 of 2020, how to exercise them and how to file a complaint. Exercising your rights is free of charge for you. If you wish to exercise any of your rights, we will inform you of the action we have taken in response to your request within one month at the latest. This period may be extended by a further two months, if necessary, in view of the complexity of the request or the number of requests received. We will inform you of such an extension and the reasons for the extension within one month of receiving your request.
